Connelly named new Bulldog volleyball coach
Muldown Elementary teacher Addy Connelly will take the reins as the new Lady Bulldog head volleyball coach.
The district began taking resumes last week following the resignation of long time head coach Jackie Fuller due to internal conflicts with the team.
Connelly is a Title I teacher at Muldown and has served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Lady Dogs program for the last two seasons.
Having spent time with the team already, Connelly said the transition will be easy.
“I had the privilege of coaching as a volunteer for the last two years with these girls, so I’ve already built up some relationships with them,” Connelly said.
Coming into a program that faced some early-season issues leading to Fuller’s resignation, Connelly said the key is no major changes for the program.
Continuing what’s been successful and making “small tweaks” as the season progresses is her main priority.
“My goal isn’t to upset the program and get rid of the things that have worked well, we’re just going to build on them,” she said. “Starting off with good communication I think is really key.”
Connelly also served as head volleyball coach at Columbia Falls High School from 2006 to 2013.
The Lady Bulldogs took down Polson last Tuesday and Browning on Saturday for Connelly’s first two wins at the helm.
Whitefish will host Columbia Falls Thursday for Homecoming.
