VFW looks to honor Marine
The VFW Post 12112 in Belgrade is trying to learn more about and hopefully contact surviving family members of Stewart Trejo.
Trejo was killed during Operation Iraqi Freedom on Aug. 7, 2008, according to a Pilot article.
We are looking to contact his family so that we may honor him and his family at the fifth annual Veterans Memorial Softball Classic this August. The Veterans Memorial Softball Classic is a two-day event that features Montana high school girls softball players from each of the three softball classifications selected as “All-State” players during the spring season. The players are divided among five teams, each representing one of the five branches of the U.S. Military: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. Each team is also named in honor of a member of that particular branch who made the ultimate sacrifice during active combat operations.
We would like the Marines team to be named in Trejo’s honor this August.
Anyone with information about Trejo’s family or the family themselves can contact me by email at vfwbelgrade@hotmail.com, (406) 209-2739, or by messaging me or the VFW Post 12112 on Facebook.
