Glacier skate

Glacier Skate Academy of Whitefish is sending a host of skaters to the Pacific Northwest Regional Figure Skating Championships this month.

Grace Elden and Muriel Mercer will participate in the Juvenile Qualifying Level. The academy is also sending Sophia Burrough to the Intermediate Qualifying Level, and Shatara Boye, Sophia Elden, and Mary Margaret Mercer will compete in the Preliminary Non-Qualifying Level.

The 2018 Pacific Northwest Regional Figure Skating Championships is being held from Oct. 11-15 in Eugene, Oregon.

For the Qualifying Level and for those skaters placing in the top four, the Pacific Northwest Regional Championships is the first stop on the way to the 2017 Pacific Coast Sectional Championships in Spokane, Washington.

For those skaters placing in the top four at the Sectional Championships, they would qualify to compete at the 2018 Prudential U.S. Figure Skating Championships in San Jose, California.
