South Course set to close Oct. 16

| October 3, 2017 12:40 PM

WLGA Annual Meeting

The Annual Meeting of the Whitefish Lake Golf Club, Inc. will take place starting at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 14. Reports from various committees, updates on finances, projects completed and planned as well as the election of three new directors for the 2018-20 positions are part of the agenda. This year there are now three men running for two soon to be vacant seats. Those candidates are Rick Billuni, Dow Powell and Scott Ringer, all of which have excellent business related experiences. Jessica Tucker is running for the lone seat available for women this year. Absentee ballots, for those unable to attend the Oct. 14 meeting, are available in the Golf Shop, just as a reminder voting is limited to Tier One members.

The business meeting follows the serving of a hosted brunch complete with all the trimmings from Dan Crumbaker and staff at the Whitefish Lake Restaurant.

World’s Hardest Tournament

The Annual World’s Hardest golf tournament will be held at Whitefish Lake Golf Club immediately following the WLGC Annual Business Meeting on Oct. 14. This event is a two-person best ball event played on hole locations you would not normally see and in some cases involve more than one hole to reach the green. While it is a lot of fun to play you can find yourself challenged and seeing places on the course that may not have been surveyed. Sign up now in the Golf Shop for this extremely fun event at 862-5960.

South Course closing on Oct. 16

The South Course will be the first to close this year with playing stopping as of Oct. 16 on that side. The North Course will remain open until the end of October, weather providing. All in all, it has been a very good year at Whitefish Lake Golf Course this season with play running ahead of 2016, even with the smoke and heat this past summer.

Go Bulldogs

Congrats to the Lady Bulldogs for bringing home a third place trophy from the Class A state golf tournament in Sidney this past week. The young boys team managed to finish in fifth place as well.
