Spots still available for Bulldog Open

| May 30, 2017 5:15 PM

Bulldog Open Sunday, June 18

Some spots still remain open to register for the Bulldog Open on June 18. The afternoon shotgun start will begin at roughly 1:15 p.m. and is more likely to fill earlier than the 7:30 a.m. slot. The entry fee of $65 per player is used to support the Junior Golf Program and High School team, plus prizes, flight winners and the Grand Prize winning team. The format will once again be a four-person scramble using the step aside format (the player who hit the last shot cannot hit the next one). This rule is waived on the Par 3 holes to enable everyone the opportunity to shoot for the great prizes on those holes. Call the Golf Shop at 862-5960 for more information or stop in and register your team.

South Course Getting Drier

The South Course at Whitefish Lake Golf Club is getting much better with warmer days and lack of rain. The hillside springs continue however to keep pumping and some areas remain wetter than we would like before we allow full play and cart access. Holes number 6 and 13 are still very wet so if you are playing the South, and those holes are in play, please follow the signs.

Junior Golf Starts June 13 and 14

The first day of the FREE Gary Norby Junior Golf Program is set for Tuesday, June 13 with the 6- and 7-year-olds going from 6 to 7 p.m. and on Wednesday, June 14 the 8- to 10-year-olds will meet from 9-10 a.m. Also on Wednesday evening from 6-7 p.m., the 11- to 17-year-olds will have their regularly scheduled junior golf program. Remember this is a free program to all interested junior golfers and no experience is needed to join the fun and learn to play golf. The Gary Norby Foundation fully supports this Junior Golf Program and provides clubs for those players that need them. Our Golf Professional Staff conducts the sessions each week from the start to the finish of the Program on Wednesday, July 26 when we have a FUN Day Tournament and barbecue for all the participants. Call the Golf Shop at 862-5960 for more information and to obtain registration information.
