South Course open for limited play

South Course Open

The South Course at Whitefish Lake Golf Club opened up all 18 holes this past Friday for limited play due to the long wet, never ending, spring full of constant rain. While the level of Lost Coon Lake remains higher than normal, the real culprit to the wet conditions is the numerous springs that are pumping water continuously. If we can get a few consecutive days of warm and dry weather the course will play beautifully with impeccable greens and tees. When you are playing either the North or South Course this spring continue to be cautious of wet areas that can be easily damaged by any type of traffic in the wet conditions.

The North Course is playing remarkably well with exceptional conditions in spite of the rain and high water table. Our crew battles daily to keep up with the growing turf each day and they are miraculously staying ahead at this point.

Season Opener

Tournament

The large field of players enjoyed a pretty nice day last Saturday for the Season Opener Tournament, which was played in a two-person best net ball format. The team of “Chef” Dan Crumbaker and long hitting Glenn Gustafson recorded a winning score of 59 for the low of the day. Overall it was another example of the fun filled events for the membership at Whitefish Lake Golf Club and a tribute to the organizational skills of the Golf Professional staff led by Tim Olson.

Music on the Course

The policy of Whitefish Lake Golf Club regarding music on the course is one best described as quiet enjoyment. If you wish to listen to music while you are playing it must be at a volume that other players and groups cannot hear. Please follow these guidelines out of respect for those golfers that do not wish to have electronics on the course.
