Whitefish Gallery Nights kicks off 13th season Thursday
On six Thursdays throughout the year, the Whitefish art community hosts an evening of featured artist exhibitions, entertainment and light refreshments.
The 13th season of Whitefish Gallery Nights begins Thursday, May 4. Events take place at 11 participating galleries from 6-9 p.m.
The participating galleries include: Dick Idol Signature Gallery, Frame of Reference Fine Art, Going To The Sun Gallery, McGough & Company, Stephen Isley Jewelry, Stumptown Art Studio, Sunti World Art Gallery, The Purple Pomegranate, The Walking Man Frame Shop & Gallery, Whitefish Pottery & Stillwater Gallery and White Apple Gallery.

A few of the galleries are presenting featured artist or exhibits for the first Gallery Nights.
- Stillwater Gallery presents “Dust & Flame,” an exhibition of new work from ceramic artist Sean Tribble, an accomplished potter from Eureka. For over 21 years Tribble has been throwing pots and making art. The opening reception is on May 4 and the show will run through the end of the month. Stillwater Gallery is located within the Whitefish Pottery retail store.
- The Purple Pomegranate is featuring work by St. Ignatius jewelry artist, Kristie Nerby, during the month of May. Nerby has been self-taught and self-employed for many years and works in the mediums of silk painting, cake decorating, catering and picture framing. She also works as a glass artists challenging herself by creating designs that are at once classic wearable art pieces and fun handcrafted earrings that excite the eye and lift the spirit.
- The Walking Man Frame Shop & Gallery presents “Figments” digital paintings featuring fantastic scenes and portraits by Daniel Foust.
- Stephen Isley Jewelry is showcasing the work of local up and coming artist Joshua Espinosa. His paintings are inspired by the natural beauty of Montana and Mexico. Gallery Nights offers a chance to meet the artist and experience his work.
- Stumptown Art Studio’s popular Annual Spring Show and Ice-Cream Social takes place during the first gallery night. This family event features Stumptown Art Studio’s students with an amazing display of drawing and painting, sculpture, clay and mixed media works of art. At the reception everyone is also invited to create their own unique ice-cream treat, made with the fabulous ice-cream donated by Sweet Peaks.
- White Apple Gallery will hold an opening reception to celebrate “re-imagination,” a group exhibition welcoming and introducing its artists, as well as the grand opening of the gallery itself. The gallery features works from over a dozen contemporary artists that have never shown before in Whitefish, as well as a small group of local artists exhibiting works seen here for the first time.
