Nine students from Whitefish High School will advance to the DECA International Career Development Conference after competing at state.

Whitefish was among 11 Montana schools who recently competed at the Montana DECA Career Development Conference in Great Falls. About 500 students total competed.

Whitefish brought 18 competitors to state to compete in marketing, finance, hospitality and tourism, business administration and entrepreneurship events through role playing, presentations and written research.

Depending on the event, the top two to three competitors qualify to compete at the international level. Although students may compete in multiple events at state, qualifiers may only compete in one event at the international conference.

The International Career Development Conference is April 24-30 in Anaheim, California. Approximately 18,000 students from nine countries are anticipated to attend.
