Turgeon family grabs Father's Day Open grand prize
Bulldog Open
The Father’s Day Bulldog Open for 2017 was another great success with 72 teams completing the full field for both the morning and afternoon sections. The Grand Prize winners were the Turgeon family with Darren, Laurie, Cole and Trevor winning the Jackets and Garmin watches. It’s great to see a family win the event on Father’s Day and having past WHS golfers, as were Cole and Trevor, adds even more to the tradition. The team of Jim Brown, Kevin Green, Noah Shafer and Kaleb Stanton captured the low net category for the tournament.
Thanks to all the volunteers including all the junior golfers for working the event and keeping the fundraiser going. Special thanks also to Whitefish Ford, Jesco Power Sports, Hub International Insurance, Marcus Food, Whitefish Lake Restaurant, First Interstate Bank, Glacier Bank, American Bank and National Parks Realty for being such great Corporate Partners in the event. Junior Golf was once again the biggest winner in the Bulldog Open as the Norby Foundation receives all the net revenue to use in supporting our fabulous Junior Golf Program and WHS teams.
The Golf Shop staff along with Norby Foundation Board of Directors once again ran a smooth and highly enjoyable “fifth major” event.
Fourth of July
The field for the Fourth of July Tournament is once again full with players coming from all around the region. The event will have some of the best players including Montana State player Coral Schultz and University of Montana’s Teigan Avery in the women’s division. Ryggs Johnson from Libby, a high school junior this fall, is expected to compete for the men’s title along with numerous state and regional players including Shawn Tucker and Arthur Dorne from Whitefish as strong contenders. Carroll Lilly will be tough to knock off as he defends the Senior Division title. This is a great opportunity for golf fans to come watch some of the best ball strikers around compete in a very strong field. Watch for more for information about the derby and other attractions for the tournament.
