Project Whitefish Kids is holding a “Trash and Treasures” fundraiser sale Saturday, June 10.

The inaugural event is a benefit for Project Whitefish Kids and proceeds raised will go toward ongoing field maintenance and improvements for the entire Smith Fields Sports Complex.

Whitefish Rotary club is assisting with the event.

The list of items for sale are unique, according to Michelle Reese with the Rotary club.

She said there is furniture, schools supplies, a boat, a kayak and other sports equipment that will be sold during the event.

“Everything is in good shape,” she said.

Leftover items from the city of Whitefish’s recent auction have also been donated to the sale. The city held a surplus auction after moving into the new City Hall building.

Reese said all the money goes to Project Whitefish Kids, which manages the sports park on its own for the use of many sports teams. “We’d really like to do this every year,” she said. “All the money goes to them.”

The event is set for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Smith Fields. In case of inclement weather it will move to the Roy Duff Memorial Armory.
