Robert Allen Burtsfield

Robert Allen Burtsfield, resident of Blackwell, Oklahoma, went to his Heavenly Father on July 8, 2017, at age 79 from complications of dementia.

Bob was born July 22, 1937, Kalispell. He grew up and was educated in Whitefish. At age 17, he joined the Army National Guard. He then went on to trade school in Havre, where he learned mechanics and tooling crafts. He loved to go roller skating, camping, fly fishing and boating,

Bob has been a resident of Blackwell, Oklahoma, for 50 years. Bob and Carol joined a Square Dancing troupe in Ponca City and he loved to dance. He loved it so much he took line-dancing lessons before they were married so he could go to the singles dance and feel confident.

Bob’s various occupations were with Flathead Janitorial in Kalispell and after moving to Oklahoma did factory work and then worked as a maintenance man for several Morman churches as he was a member of the Morman Church in Blackwell. Bob had a large shop behind his home and loved working with his hands. He built a small tractor, named it Tin Lizzie, and built a riding lawn mower from a golf cart and a trailer for hauling it for his maintenance work. His passion for building masterpieces out of wood and metal have touched the hearts and lives of many.

Bob married Joyce in 1962 and is the father of three children, William Burtsfield of Washington State; Annette Trepton of Ponca City, Oklahoma; and Tina Graham of Newkirk, Oklahoma, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Bob married Carol on Nov. 5, 1999 and sealed in the Dallas Temple, and became stepfather of her four children, nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Brother and sisters: Kay Barker, Ralph Burtsfield, and Linda Burton, all of Kalispell.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Henrietta Marie Robinson Burtsfield.
