A group of Glacier Twins celebrate after a Coby Clark-Dickenson double sends two runs home Saturday against the Butte Miners.

The Twins fought hard over the weekend but weren’t quite able to make it to the championship of the Sapa Johnsrud tournament.

Glacier faced off against the Spokane Cannons in the semifinals on Sunday but couldn’t keep up with the Cannons’ hot bats. Spokane scored five runs in the sixth and another three in the seventh to blow open a tight 7-7 game. Glacier led 7-5 through three innings early on.

Greyson Bistodeau and Coby Clark-Dickenson both had two hits apiece for Glacier, with two RBIs for Clark-Dickenson as well.

Things looked promising after Glacier’s first blowout win over Gonzaga on Thursday.

The Twins tallied 11 runs in just five innings to take down the Bullpups 11-3. Bistodeau and Clark-Dickenson combined for 7-8 at the plate and five runs. Skyler Warner picked up the win on the mound.

The next day, however, the Twins ran into the Lethbridge Spitz Elks AA, halting the momentum from a weeks-long hot streak for Glacier’s first loss of the tournament.

Glacier managed just two runs in the 6-2 loss, despite racking up one more hit than the Elks.

On Saturday morning the Twins got back to business, taking down the Butte Miners 11-8 before defeating Spokane 8-4 later in the day.

Jack Schwaiger picked up the win on the mound for the Twins against Butte.

The Twins have a handful of games left before the District tournament on July 20.

They’ll face off against the Missoula Mavericks tonight for two seven-inning games starting at 5 p.m. at Memorial field before starting the final two-game series against the Kalispell Lakers A over the weekend. They’ll head to Kalispell on Saturday at 3 p.m. before returning home for the final regular season game at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
