'On Golden Pond'

The Whitefish Theatre Co. is holding auditions for the spring production of “On Golden Pond” on Feb. 6 and 7 at the O’Shaughnessy Center in Whitefish.

Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. Those auditioning should arrive early to fill out an audition application and review the script. WTC is asking everyone to enter at the north side of the building near the Green Room.

Based on the Broadway hit and classic film, “On Golden Pond” is the heartwarming story of lovable curmudgeon Norman Thayer and his spirited wife, Ethel. Upon return to their summer lake home in Maine, their vacation is interrupted with the unexpected arrival of their estranged daughter, her uptight fiancé, and his rebellious teenage son. Over the course of the summer, an unlikely friendship develops between Norman and the boy, bringing together generations and the lessons they learn from each other.

The cast will be composed of three men, two women and one boy, age 13 to 16. No experience or preparation is necessary to audition. Pages from the script will be provided.

David Ackroyd is the director for this production. Total time commitment for this production is approximately six weeks of rehearsal. Rehearsals begin at the end of February or the beginning of March. There are seven performances over two weekends on April 13-16 and April 20-23.
