Whitefish Review available for purchase at national book store

Barnes & Noble stores across the nation will carry Whitefish Review’s new “Rising Voices” issue.

The literary journal will go on sale in 160 stores beginning Dec. 22. The new issue features nearly 40 authors, poets, photographers, and artists including interviews with actor Michael Keaton and Pulitzer Prize winning journalist David Fahrenthold. The issue was lead edited by Montana’s poet laureate, Lowell Jaeger. Jaeger has been the poetry editor at Whitefish Review for the past eight years.

Editor-in-Chief Brian Schott received the call from TNG (The News Group) last month, asking Whitefish Review to submit the journal to a review committee who would consider it for distribution to Barnes & Noble outlets. The journal was accepted and the Whitefish Review team scrambled to increase production and meet the barcode requirements for national sales.

“It was an exciting but stressful time for us as we went to press on our 21st issue,” said Schott. “Being recognized by the largest magazine distributor in the country — as well as a major retail chain like Barnes & Noble — gets your heart rate up.”
