The rivalry between Whitefish and Columbia Falls speech and debate teams continued on Saturday, with another first and second-place finish by the two teams.

This time it was Columbia Falls coming on top, and Whitefish finished second in Class A in the Hamilton tournament.

The Bulldogs were led by a pair of policy debate teams, with Ian Caltabiano and Zach Ade taking first and Abby Lowry and Josie Johnson finishing just behind at second.

On the speech side, several Whitefish students hit personal bests, including freshmen Josh Harvey (semifinalist in extemporaneous), Sophie Tabor (finalist in humorous interpretation), and Faith Askew (semifinalist in dramatic interpretation).

Whitefish will head to Columbia Falls after the holiday for a Jan. 5 showdown.
