Hospital honors employees, volunteers

Members of the North Valley Hospital Auxiliary were honored at the hospital’s picnic last week. The organization, which supported the hospital for 68 years, is ending. Sally Porcarelli, with the help of her daughter Patty Markuson, holds up a scrapbook from the North Valley Hospital Auxiliary that features an August 1985 Pilot article about her and her daughters. Porcarelli worked at the hospital for 28 years before retiring and was a member of the auxiliary. Several scrapbooks were on display last week during the hospital’s picnic.

North Valley Hospital held an employee and volunteer appreciation picnic last week at the hospital campus.

North Valley honored employees for their years of service and also gave out three employee recognition awards. The North Valley Hospital Auxiliary was also honored for its 68 years of service to the community.

The Physician Champion Award was given to Dr. J. Douglas Muir, with North Valley Behavioral Health. The Jake Heckathorn Spirit of Service Award was given to Joan Werner in the same day surgery department. Leilani Swan, an infusion-services nurse, was named the Planetree Caregiver of the Year.
