Season Opener

Tournament May 13

The Annual Season Opener tournament at Whitefish Lake Golf Club will be held on Saturday, May 13 with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. This event is a two person net best ball outing so find a partner and register soon as the field is limited. The entry fee will include a lunch provided by the Whitefish Lake Restaurant and great prizes for various flights. Call 862-5960 or stop in to register for the Season Opener.

Play the Tees that Fit Your Game

In the past few years Whitefish Lake Golf Club has expended energy and funding to create five different tee areas for our players to enjoy. To maximize your personal enjoyment select the set of tees to best fit your game. Too often, golfers choose the tees that make the game too challenging for their current skill level. Remember the object of the game of golf, and other sports, should be to have fun. A side benefit of choosing the right tee is that the game will move around much faster for everyone. Play it forward and see if you don’t have a much better experience. At WLGC we have nearly 25 percent of our players using the new “gold” or shorter tees.

Bunker Maintenance

Golfers need to exercise care when entering or leaving a bunker to prevent possible injury or damage to the bunker edges and sides. At Whitefish we prefer that you leave the rake on the edge of bunker in a position that will most likely be out of play. What we really expect from every player is to rake every bunker they enter to prepare the surface for those that follow. Even with staff efforts to maintain the sand surfaces in the bunkers it becomes fruitless if we don’t all do our share to rake and smooth the sand as we leave.

Get Tuned

Playing an out of tune instrument is never going to be very enjoyable and the same can be said about an out of tune golf swing. We don’t have a magic tuner to attach to your clubs, but our staff can help you improve your swing and minimize your miss hits. As Ben Hogan once said, “golf is a series of bad shots, some worse than others,” so let our Golf Professionals help you reduce the difference between good and not so good shots with a lesson. Call the Shop at 862-5960 to schedule a tune up or sign up for one of our clinics.
