The Project Whitefish Wine and Food Fest an annual wine tasting, food festival and auction is set for Wednesday, May 3, at Grouse Mountain Lodge.

This year’s event, themed the Rocky Mountain Rendezvous, is from 6-9 p.m. and raises funds to support kids in the community through sports and the performing arts. All proceeds from this benefit go to Project Whitefish Kids, the organization that maintains the Smith Fields Sports Complex for several sports teams, and the Whitefish Theatre Company.

The food is a fine sampling of cuisines from local restaurants including Logan’s Bar and Grill, Loula’s, Latitude 48, Last Chair Kitchen & Bar, Pig & Olive, Stumptown Market Bakery and Whitefish Lake Restaurant. Fun Beverage provides a selection of wine and beer for tasting including introducing new varieties for the tasters to sample. Montana Coffee Traders will supply plenty of coffee.

A silent and live auction highlights the evening. Auction items include original art, a SONOS speaker system, custom-made gourmet dinners, weekend getaways to Las Vegas and Flathead Lake, a hot air balloon ride, golfing extravaganzas, sporting equipment, wine, restaurant gift certificates, health and pampering specials, theatre tickets, ski lift tickets, a quarter of a cow, garden and home decorating packages, outdoor adventure events and more. There is also a week-long safari package along the northern cape of South Africa. Local businesses and individuals have donated all of these items.

Seating is limited to 200. Tickets are $70 per person and include all food and beverages. Tables for 10 can be purchased for $700 or sponsor a table for $300 that comes with four tickets. Sponsored tables are conveniently located near the auctioneer with the purchasers name listed for all to see. Donations are also accepted towards this event.

Tickets can be purchased at The Village Shop, Imagination Station, and the O’Shaughnessy Center or by calling 862-5371. Tickets can also purchased online at www.whitefishtheatreco.org.

Sponsors for Project Whitefish are Fun Beverage, Whitefish Theatre Company, and Project Whitefish Kids.
