Resort pass prices increase for 2017-18 season
Mountain regulars will be paying a little more to hit the slopes next year. Whitefish Mountain Resort last week announced a $15 increase for adult season passes for its 70th year.
An adult season pass will cost $645, up from this season’s pass price of $630. Senior and college student passes will cost $545, which is a $15 increase. Teen and junior passes will also increase slightly, with teen passes at $355, a $10 increase; and junior passes at $185, up $5 from last year. Children ages six and under and seniors over 70 will continue to ski free at WMR.
“This season has been truly awesome thanks to storm after storm producing the best conditions in recent memory, but also because we were able to enjoy all of that snow with a record number of dedicated season pass holders,” Nick Polumbus, director of sales and marketing for Whitefish Mountain Resort, said. “I’ve said it before and I will say it again, Whitefish is the best ski community in the industry. Whitefish Mountain Resort is the perfect setting for reconnecting with family, friends and the great outdoors. We are already looking forward to celebrating our 70th anniversary next winter. We’re excited to keep pricing reasonable while improving the experience for this incredible group of pass holders.”
Pass prices at Whitefish Mountain Resort have gone up by increments of $10 and $15 each season for the past several years. An adult pass was priced at $550 in 2010.
The resort also announced for next season a third time slot on Saturdays and Sundays for the age three and four Buckaroos Ski and Ride School program. That program costs $325 now through Sept. 30. The Half Pints program costs $270 and the Development Program costs $370.
Snowsports director for the resort Bill Cubbage said increases in learning programs has necessitated expansions.
“The incredible growth we’ve seen in the last few years has created a need for us to offer additional times to accommodate the demand for these programs,” Cubbage said. “Our community has an amazing collection of skiers and riders made up of families and adults who put great value on their winter recreation. It is our goal to provide a positive, safe and fun environment to learn and develop lifelong skills in snowsports.”
Pass prices are available until Sept. 30.
The resort offers three ways to pay for the pass. Skiers and riders can pay in full, or choose from the installment or two-payment plans.
Benefits of a season pass include four lift tickets at $49 for friends and family and five free days at Red Lodge Mountain Resort and Homewood Mountain Resort in California. Pass-holders also receive 10 percent off dining, clothing, equipment repairs, 20 percent off lessons, 20 percent off lodging for friends and family, and unlimited scenic lift rides in summer 2018.
