'World's Hardest Tournament' Oct. 15
Absentee voting begins
Tier one members of the Whitefish Lake Golf Association that can’t attend the Oct. 15 annual meeting may vote with an absentee ballot starting Friday, Sept. 30. Ballots will be available in the Golf Shop and members are asked to vote for one female and one male on the ballot. Employees of the golf course can’t vote in the election of board of directors.
World’s Hardest
Golf Tournament
Immediately following the annual meeting on Saturday, Oct. 15, the WLGC’s annual World’s Hardest Tournament will be played on the South Course. This is a two-person net best ball event where the participants can expect to see the course set up in a unique manner with holes in places they are never found. Sign up in the Golf Shop to participate with one of your friends or call 862-5960 for more information.
Hall of Fame Inductees
Two new members will be inducted into the Whitefish Lake Golf Club Hall of Fame at this year’s Annual Meeting. These two very deserving and long-time members will join a list of current and former members that have made significant contributions to the golf club over the years.
Golf Numbers Down Across Valley
Whitefish Lake Golf Club, along with other courses in the Valley, has experienced a decline in the number of guest rounds played these past two years. While we had avoided the national trend of decreased numbers prior to 2014, it is now arriving in the Valley. Golf courses across the country are closing at a rate faster than the number of new courses being built. We are looking at ways to introduce the game to new players, which are always welcome at Whitefish Lake Golf Club. Learn the game and participate in a sport that can be enjoyed for a lifetime.
