School project is forward thinking

| September 27, 2016 4:31 PM

My father Mully Muldown was very passionate about Whitefish and I am proud of his legacy here in skiing and education. Whitefish has certainly changed a lot since I was a boy. Old friends call me from all over the United States and tell me that they keep hearing about Whitefish. Yes, Whitefish is certainly on the map these days.

For the most part, I think my dad would be very happy with the Whitefish of today. The old entrepreneurs who bet their shirts on the ski mountain envisioned a destination ski town that would attract travelers from all over the world. Today we have new business people here who have invested in Whitefish, people who deserve a lot of credit for continuing the vision of the early pioneers.

The growing greenhouse project at Whitefish High School is another example of forward thinking people in Whitefish. I think my dad would be really impressed with this type of vision for education. What an amazing addition for the children of our community to learn sustainable practices and entrepreneurship as our town changes and grows. It will help produce the next best crop of kids.
