The Lady Bulldogs’ hot start came to a halt over the weekend, as Whitefish (3-2) dropped soccer matches on the road at Laurel (5-1) and at Billings Central (6-0), the defending Montana A girls soccer champions.

Jessica Elmer scored all three goals for Laurel in the close 3-2 match. Seniors Katie Blankenship and Haley Nicholson tallied for Whitefish.

On Saturday, Billings Central continued their undefeated season with a 4-1 win over the Lady Dogs.

Haley Nicholson scored the lone goal for Whitefish in the 32nd minute. Nicholson is third in league scoring with 11 goals this season. The Bulldogs only had one shot on goal and senior goalkeeper Kess Nelson recorded five saves.

Whitefish was back in action Tuesday against Bigfork (0-5), and hosts rival Columbia Falls (5-1) on Thursday at 5 p.m. at Smith Fields.
