The south end of the alley between Central Avenue and Baker Avenue by the City Hall construction project will be closed until Sept. 30.

During this time, Martel Construction’s masonry contractor will begin to install the first elements of brick on the new City Hall. The work will be comprised of placing oversized brick along the east face of the City Hall structure.

Stearns Masonry began erecting the scaffolding on Monday and is expected to begin the brick work soon.

This closure will affect only that portion of the alley from Second Street to the Remington Bar. Vehicle traffic can continue to access the alley from the First Street entrance. However, pedestrian traffic may be restricted from time to time in the vicinity of the masonry work.
