The last time the Bulldogs and Dillon met on the gridiron, the Bulldogs left with the state championship trophy in hand. Friday’s rematch, however, had little in common with that game.

The Bulldogs (0-2) fell 47-0 to the Beavers (1-0) in a hot offensive night for Dillon in their season opener. The first score of the game came on a Derek Kastella interception that was returned 31 yards for a touchdown. Senior running back R.J. Fitzgerald added 70 yards and three scores to build up a 34-0 halftime lead, and it was more of the same in the second half.

Kastella finished 8 for 18 for 29 yards and two interceptions. Spencer Moore led the Bulldogs in rushing with 28 yards on three carries, and Sawyer Silliker had four catches for 33 yards.
