Whitefish fell to Polson 38-0 in a tough offensive night Friday for the Bulldogs.

All of Polson’s scoring came in the first half, which saw touchdown runs by Colton Cote, Tanner Wilson and Koby Garcia. Cote finished with 132 yards rushing and two scores while Wilson had two touchdown runs and 108 yards passing.

Friday was the second time this season the Bulldogs failed to get on the board. The offense only amassed a total of 66 yards, 46 rushing and 20 through the air. Tyler Cote led with 30 yards rushing and Forrest Kobelt led with 23 yards passing on three completions. Starting quarterback Derek Kastella finished one for seven for negative yards and two interceptions.

With the loss, Whitefish fell to 2-4 on the season, tied for third in Northwest A conference. Polson (4-1) remains at the top with two conference wins.

The Bulldogs (2-4) host rival Columbia Falls (5-0) Friday night in what should be a tense Northwest A matchup.

The Wildcats currently sit at second place in conference.

Whitefish won last year’s matchup 47-7 behind three touchdowns from now senior Tyler Cote.

The game will be at 7 p.m. at Memorial Field. The Bulldogs’ 12 seniors will also be recognized for senior night.
