In addition to the popular youth classes, a great variety of adult workshops are also on the schedule.

Kicking off the month of October is the popular Dia de los Muertos art exhibit on the Oct. 6 with an opening reception for all ages from 6-9 p.m. This traditional Mexican celebration is recognized through the artwork of students from around the Flathead Valley. It takes place along with the other exhibits of the final Whitefish Gallery Night of the season.

Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday begins with Art Academy from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. for ages 3-5. This creative classroom is an art-based program with an integrated core curriculum approach for educating pre-school age students. The option of all three days, two or one is available.

Mondays is for Painting with the Masters after school for ages 5-8 from 3:45-5:15 p.m. Claytime, also after school on Mondays from 3:45-5:15 p.m., is a great opportunity for ages 9 and up to learn about designing their work and making it all “stick together”.

The community program After School Arts & Crafts Club for ages 8-13 meets on Wednesdays from 3:45-4:45 p.m. Stumptown Art Studio is providing a creative space for kids to exercise the right side of their brain.

On Thursdays, the pre-school 3- to 5-year-old group gets together for Art Exploration from 12:45-2:15 p.m. Each four-week session will emphasize a variety of art materials and fun projects.

After school, also on Thursdays is Sculpting with the Masters for ages 7-13. In this second four-week session “Monsters and Misfits” will be the inspiration for creating fun and colorful 3D works of art.

A monthly evening of youth art, Canvas & Cookies, takes place on Oct. 14 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Ages 7-12 are invited to join in for some themedpainting, dessert and fun.

A variety of adult workshops given by resident and guest artists are held every month at the non-profit community art center.
