Water rates exorbitant

Editor’s note: This letter was addressed to members of the Whitefish City Council.

I am writing to protest your recent ill-advised change in water rates.

I’ve been a Whitefish resident for nine years and felt our water rates were high.

I was shocked to see my October bill of $116.51 representing a 234 percent increase over the previous month. I am a senior citizen living along with limited resources and my usage is at a minimum. I can appreciate a need for an increase, but the exorbitance is ridiculous.

I would appreciate your acknowledgment of this letter, and I await your reply.
