No. 2352 WHITEFISH PLANNING BOARD NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The regular meeting of the Whitefish Planning Board will be held on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 6:00 pm in the Whitefish City Council Chambers at 1005 Baker Avenue. During the meeting, the Board will hold a public hearing on the items listed below. Upon receipt of the recommendation by the Planning Board, the Whitefish City Council will also hold a subsequent public hearing for items 1-2 on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 and items 3-4 on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. No. 2348 LEGAL NOTICE Montana Fish, Wildlife, & Parks (FWP), Region 1, has completed an environmental assessment (EA) for the Pine Grove Pond Fishing Access Site Proposed West Acquisition for the purpose of accepting a donation of a parcel of land totaling 5.17 acres between the existing parking areas of Pine Grove Pond FAS and the base of the hillside to the west. The purpose of the donation is to provide a buffer to future development of private land west of the FAS and as potential for future additional parking or other uses as needed. Copies of the decision notice are available at the FWP office, 490 N. Meridian Rd., Kalispell; Montana State Library, 1515 E 6th Ave., Helena; FWP State Headquarters, 1420 E 6th Ave., Helena; the FWP website at http://fwp.mt.gov/news/publicNotices/decisionNotices/pn_0828.html, and available for viewing at local libraries. The draft EA was out for a 15-day public review through November 4, 2016. Seven comments were received, all in favor of the proposal to accept donation of the property. Based on the analysis in the EA and the favorable responses, Alternative B was found to be the preferred alternative, to accept the donation of 5.17 acres, pending approval of our Fish & Wildlife Commission at their December 8, 2016, meeting.
