Thanks to those who made ski swap a success

| November 15, 2016 3:04 PM

Whitefish, Montana, is awesome. And so is the WAVE aquatic and fitness center, Sportsman and Ski Haus, Runner Up Sports, The White Room, Tamarack Ski Shop, DREAM Adaptive, Nordic Ski Club, Whitefish Mountain Resort, Flossie Fletcher/Soroptomist, and Bria and Jimmy Deats/JD Thinning. The number of hours and people it takes to pull off this feat that is known as the Big Mountain Ski Club’s annual ski sale and swap is staggering. And this letter cannot thank each and every volunteer, man and woman, enough. Every year the Big Mountain Ski Club is amazed and humbled at the number of returning volunteers that show up to spend countless hours to check in consignments on Friday, and help us sell awesome ski stuff on Saturday. Note to our volunteers: You are amazing, thank you!

The goal of our non-profit ski club is to teach children how to ski. Over the past 30 years we have met that goal with hundreds of children learning to ski in our free ski lessons. Ski/snowboard days have become a reality for third, fourth, fifth and sixth graders in the Whitefish School District, thanks to the proceeds generated through this annual ski sale and swap. Absolutely incredible!

So now that everyone is geared up and ready to hit the slopes, let’s pray for snow and lots of it. Happy skiing.
