DREAM honors Sportsman
DREAM Adaptive Recreation is honoring Sportsman Ski Haus in Whitefish and Kalispell for providing ski and boot rentals for adaptive athletes who participate in its program.
DREAM executive director Cheri DuBeau Carlson last week presented Sportsman employees in Whitefish with a vintage wooden ski with an attached wooden plaque.
“I wanted to make this something that Sportsman wanted to hang on their walls,” Carlson said in a prepared release. “They have supported us for so long and really have impacted the skiing community in more ways than they know.”
Sportsman has been providing gear to DREAM participants who don’t have their own since 1986. DREAM also presented the same award to Sportsman in Kalispell.
The mission of DREAM is to enhance the quality of life to individuals with disabilities by providing year round outdoor adaptive recreational opportunities. Sportsman has been providing gear to DREAM participants who don’t have their own since 1986. Last year the organization offered more than 1,300 lessons to adaptive athletes who were learning to ski, improve their ski skills or improve to the next level of the winter sport.
