Police Calls: 2 a.m. beer run turns into robbery threat

Monday, May 16

4:12 p.m. Someone tagged beams in front of a downtown store with graffiti.

9:07 p.m. Drug use was suspected on Colorado Avenue. A group of people were seen smoking something in a parking lot. Police investigated and found no signs of drug use.

Tuesday, May 17

7:24 a.m. The food bank was called to pick up a deer hit on West Second Street.

8:44 a.m. Two children without supervision were on East 4th Street. Their mother was counseled.

4:28 p.m. An intoxicated man stumbled into some bushes on Highway 93 South.

Wednesday, May 18

8:25 a.m. Someone cut the lock on a West 2nd fuel tank, but they didn’t get away with any fuel.

5:56 p.m. Report of a rogue dog running loose on Texas Avenue. The dog was reportedly being aggressive with a little girl.

Thursday, May 19

7:16 a.m. An old beat up SUV containing a sword, knives and a machete was left running with the door open at a residence on West 7th Street. The vehicle also smelled of marijuana.

9:34 a.m. A Texas Avenue resident complained about a neighbor’s dogs that chase horses and might be vicious.

2:25 p.m. An employee at a store on Highway 93 asked a suspicious man to show them what he had in his pants, believing he had stolen some items. The man showed the employee he had his own pistol tucked into his pants.

6 p.m. A Texas Avenue resident told police she wanted the iPad and phone from her deceased daughter, but another man had the items. She threatened to follow the man around town until she gets the items. Police advised against such actions and informed her of the possible consequences.

7:56 p.m. A store on West 13th warned police about disturbing photographs they had developed for a customer. The customer was a lawyer and needed the photos for a trial. Police advised her to properly warn the developers in the future.

Friday, May 20

9:18 p.m. A woman crying at a bar said she was scared for her life after almost getting hit in a fight.

Saturday, May 21

2:12 a.m. An employee at a convenience store reported that two men came in to buy beer at 1:58 a.m. By the time they got to the register it was after 2 a.m. and she could not sell the beer. One man, in a joking manner, threatened to get his gun and rob the store.

2:14 p.m. Graffiti was found along a pedestrian path by the river along Central Avenue. Police were unable to locate two teens in hoodies and dark sunglasses that were possible suspects.

3:59 p.m. Report of a suspicious man in dark green van parked on East 2nd Street.

Sunday, May 22

10:06 p.m. A scruffy, disorderly man was threatening the staff at a bar downtown.
