Whitefish Trail program focuses on youth photography
Whitefish Legacy Partners is unveiling a new program to introduce youth to outdoor photography on the Whitefish Trail.
The Nature in Focus program involves four weekend workshops throughout the summer teaching photographic composition and technique through hands-on demonstrations and constructive feedback. Each workshop takes place on the Whitefish Trail and is led by professional photographer David Marx and Whitefish Trail Naturalist Kim Corette. The program culminates with an optional Youth Photography Contest in November. The photo contest is open to any youth ages 12-18 and photos must be taken on the Whitefish Trail. Cash prizes will be awarded, and winning photos will be published in the Whitefish Pilot.
The Nature in Focus program is open to students ages 12-18. Limited space is available and pre-registration is required. Digital cameras are available for participants to borrow during workshops. This program is made possible due to a grant from the Applied Materials Foundation.
