Old Town 6-lot subdivision approved
City Council May 2 approved a new six-lot subdivision planned for the Old Town neighborhood on the west end of Whitefish.
Developers from Trip S Landgroup and Daniel Scheffer applied for the preliminary plat for four single-family homes along the west side of Salmon Run and two townhouses on Haugen Heights.
“We talked with the neighbors and this is the design we came up with based on that,” Jay Snowden, representing the property owners, told Council.
There were no other public comments on the subdivision.
The property is 1.09 acres and is developed with a single-family residence.
Access to the planned new properties will be from Salmon Run. The west side of the street will be designed with curb, gutter, sidewalks, landscape boulevard, street trees and street lighting. No parking is proposed on either side of the street.
The developer plans to extend city water and sewer to the subdivision. The developers plan to attempt to keep a number of larger trees on the site.
The project is anticipated to generate 60 daily vehicle trips.
Developers are planning to pay cash in lieu of dedicated parkland.
