A pair of sharpshooting sophomores from Whitefish won the 3-point contest at last week’s Les Schwab Shootout at Flathead High School.

Dani Douglas swished 17 shots from deep to lead all girls. Her 34 point total was enough to edge Serena Koch of Stillwater.

Jacob Henry also hit on 17 shots from beyond the arc for 34 points in the contest. His tally held off Glacier High’s Jake Norberg.

Whitefish’s Jansen Anderson placed fifth in the boys free-throw contest, and Haley Nicholson placed fifth in the girls contest.

All totaled, Whitefish scored 101 points to take third in the Shootout.

Players from Bigfork, Columbia Falls, Flathead, Glacier, Stillwater Christian and Whitefish high schools participated. Points are awarded in both the free throw and 3-point competitions, with each team entering two players in each contest and the winning school collecting $2,000.

A total of $7,100 in payouts was awarded by Les Schwab Tires of the Flathead Valley.
