Whitefish Little Guy wrestlers hit the mat at InterValley
Whitefish’s Little Guy wrestling club scored 34 points at the Western Montana Little Guy InterValley tournament last weekend in Whitefish.
The tourney featured 718 wrestlers from ages 6 - 14.
Landree Aurand of Whitefish placed first in the 60A division. He won in a sudden victory over Columbia Falls wrestler Octavius Christianson.
Whitefish’s Landon Norberg tallied a 14-3 decision over Bigfork’s Reed Redfield to place first in the 60DA group.
Henry Bennetts of Whitefish placed first in 95A with a fall over Ronan’s Jordan Gatch at 30 seconds.
Whitefish’s Kai Nash landed on top of the podium at novice 158. He won by 5-2 decision over Evergreen’s Colton Vergeront.
A handful of Whitefish wrestlers placed second.
Taften Erickson took second in beginner 60DB, Payton Jones placed second in the beginner 55BA, Keenan Curtis was second in the 60CA, Sam Akey placed second in 96B, and Dakota Flannery was second at junior 125.
Whitefish’s Taylor Dorvall placed third in the beginner 55AB division, Jackson Dorvall was third in 70B, Michael Glass placed third at middle 110A, Izaac Cox took third at junior 90, Eli Hill was third at junior 112.
John McLauglin of Whitefish earned fourth in the beginner 55DA, Clayton Jones took fourth in the 85BA, Jeremy Gonzalez was fourth in 85A, Levi Hill was fourth at middle 105A, and Camren Ross placed fourth at junior 130.
