Support for Sparrow's Nest

Several weeks ago, Laura Kochis, a board member for the Sparrow’s Nest, spoke to our Soroptimist International of Whitefish dinner meeting. She was an eloquent speaker and advocate for the homeless youth in the Flathead Valley and impressed upon us the need for compassion and generosity.

As a result, our Thrift Haus has been on the lookout for kitchen supplies, dressers, and other items for the Sparrow’s Nest homeless teen house soon to open in our community.

We received three good bikes that needed some basic tune ups and new seats. I took them to Glacier Cyclery and asked Jan and Ron Brunk if they would provide the labor to fix these bikes for the teens. As I thought, the Brunks were very generous with their business and Mike, my favorite mechanic, was wonderful with his time and some used equipment he found at the store.

As a result, a partnership between our nonprofit thrift house and a business, Glacier Cyclery, teamed together to provide quality bikes for the kids at the Sparrow’s Nest.

Please stop in to thank the great folks at Glacier Cyclery and support the Sparrow’s Nest. Any additional information on this great cause, contact sparrowsnestnwmt@gmail.com.

In addition, please continue to donate and shop at the Soroptimist Thrift Haus, where shopping is giving to our community.
