My name is Katie Bollweg and I am a Flathead native who has lived in Whitefish for over five years.

I am writing in response to the article about the race for Senate District 3 (Don “K” enters senate election, Feb. 24, 2016).

Don Kaltschmidt stated, “Keith (Regier) doesn’t have any ties to Whitefish. There is no comparison as to my knowledge of this community.”

As the daughter of Keith Regier, I can say that he is very invested in the Whitefish community. Not only does he have a daughter, but a son-in-law who teaches and coaches in the Whitefish School District, and two young grandsons who will attend Whitefish schools. Keith is a Bulldog fan who was even in Dillon cheering on the football team in the state championship.

In regards to his experience, he taught school for 28 years, has been a small business owner for 12 years, and is currently in his eighth year in the Montana Legislature in the House of Representatives. He has tremendous experience in Helena including being elected House Majority Leader, Majority Whip, and leader of various committees throughout his tenure in the Legislature.

Keith Regier has lived in Senate District 3 for almost 30 years and would take great interest in representing the constituents of this great community of Whitefish. This is one of the many reasons he is an excellent choice to represent us in Helena in the upcoming term.
