Police calls: Cowgirls wrangle up horse

Whitefish Police calls from Feb. 22-28:

Monday, Feb. 22

9:07 a.m. A resident on Saint Moritz Drive heard someone yelling for help and banging at a neighboring condo. Nothing suspicious was found.

5:16 p.m. A woman threatened to hurt herself or other people if she didn’t get medication for her back pain.

6:40 p.m. A chocolate lab was found on East 2nd Street.

7:58 p.m. A man on West 8th Street said he was assaulted and had a power tool stolen. Police determined it was a civil matter.

Tuesday, Feb. 23

2:13 p.m. Report of a teen taking pills that didn’t belong to him.

5:05 p.m. Two boys were seen jumping off a wall and into the street.

5:53 p.m. Someone attempted to steal a cell phone ordinance sign on Texas Avenue.

9:09 p.m. A woman on Dakota Avenue told police her brother attacked her.

Wednesday, Feb. 24

7:47 a.m. Report of a transient sleeping in the ditch along East Lakeshore Drive.

1:37 p.m. A woman suspected her ex of hacking into her life alert account. She said her ex is violent and the devise saved her life last year.

Thursday, Feb. 25

4:03 a.m. Report of a man in a big truck playing loud music at a trailer court on Wisconsin Avenue.

4:29 p.m. Report of a young child riding in a pickup without a car seat. The driver was advised to properly restrain the child.

5:21 p.m. A boy was bitten by a dog on Somers Avenue.

Friday, Feb. 26

11:26 a.m. A shoplifter was caught at a store on Highway 93 South.

1:37 p.m. Report of kids on BMX bikes riding into traffic on East 2nd Street. One of the boys flipped off a driver. The boys were counseled on their behavior.

7:52 p.m. A horse was running loose on Wisconsin Avenue near The Lodge. A few women corralled the horse and the owner was called.

8:09 p.m. Bicycles and a paddleboard were stolen from a storage unit on O’Brien Avenue.

Saturday, Feb. 27

12:02 p.m. A blue healer was running loose on Columbia Avenue.

7:27 p.m. A woman told police her intoxicated boyfriend hit her in the forehead and shoved her. The couple was fighting over the man’s drinking.

11:41 p.m. Report of shoplifting from a store on Highway 93 South. The stolen items were later found behind the store.

Sunday, Feb. 28

2:01 p.m. Report of an intoxicated driver on Spokane Avenue. The driver allegedly ran into another vehicle then through a sidewalk.

10:16 a.m. A suspicious man unloaded items from his pickup and was looking at them in a parking lot on Wisconsin Avenue. The caller believed the items may have been stolen. The man told police he was just cleaning his car.

4:21 p.m. Report of a firearm stolen from a locked vehicle on Dakota Avenue.

6:19 p.m. The owner of a Subaru reported a hit and run on Park Avenue.
