Edward Gray

Edward J. Gray passed away peacefully on Feb. 27, 2016 at The Springs at Whitefish.

Born April 22, 1923 to Victor and Winifred Gray in Spokane. Ed attended school in Whitefish and graduated from Whitefish High School in 1942.

He was drafted into the army and was stationed at Fort Patrick Henry in Virginia when he met the love of his life. Marge and Ed were married on Nov. 8, 1944 and began their life together in Whitefish where they were blessed with a son and two daughters. Ed and his family spent many weekends camping at various area campgrounds, and he was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Ed worked as a mail carrier on the Lakeside route in Whitefish for 28 years, retiring in 1982.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marge, in 2013. He is survived by his son, Don (Elaine) of Brady; daughters, Margy (Vern) of Medical Lake, Wash., Cyndi (Charlie) Nanna of Whitefish; eight grandchildren, John Gray, Stacey (Drew) Pike, Jim (Nicole) Gray, Jerry (Jessica) Gray, Kurt (Jen) Kroeze, Mindy (Brian) Brake, Lindsay (Todd) Allred, and Josh (Shelby) Nanna; 14 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; and one sister, Dorothy Schwartz of Kalispell.

Per Ed’s wishes, no service will follow.

His family and many friends will miss him greatly.
