Fishers a dynamic duo
In the article “Renaissance Man,” (Whitefish Pilot, June 8) I noticed a couple important details were lacking.
Along with Rod Fisher’s talents in music, writing, video-game creation, graphic arts and sailboat building, he also produced a video documentary on the Flathead Steamship era, catching interviews with those whose memories connected to that era before these Elders left our valley. In addition, it would be amiss to credit all of the renaissance aspect of Fisher’s life to his own talents. He thrived on the amplification of energy contributed by his wife (and girlfriend since eighth grade) Caroline “Carrie” Herriges Fisher. A celebrity in her own right: a drummer, singer and bass player (often all at the same time!) in an era when few women could play the electric bass guitar. And oh what a gorgeous deep voice! You can still hear her perform at 84 years of age at Saint Charles Catholic Church. The Fishers are a dynamic duo, if ever the world has seen one.
