League play in full swing at WLGC

League play is in full swing at the golf course with three separate leagues operating plus the Ladies Day events each week. Both the mens Senior League (growing exponentially) and ladies league are every Tuesday. The senior league is open to any member 50 years or older and begins with tee times each week at 12:30 p.m. Senior members interested in joining the “Geezer League” should contact Paul Jeremiassen for information and to sign-up.

Ladies league is a shotgun start with team play beginning at 5:30 p.m. each Tuesday evening.

Mens league is played each Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m., also with a shotgun start for all the teams. Substitutes are always needed for mens league play so interested players can register in the Golf Shop to be sub for mens league.

Bulldog Open June 19

The Annual Bulldog Open fundraiser, four-person scramble is set for Father’s Day June 19. Several available spots are open for the morning rounds and a couple spots remain open for the afternoon round. Prizes are once again incredible with a chance to win new vehicle compliments of Whitefish Ford and also the putting contest will be sponsored by Jesco Power Sports with a chance to win an ATV.

Lunch is included in the entry fee as well as an evening barbecue beginning at 6 p.m. All of the proceeds go directly to the Gary Norby Junior Golf Foundation or are distributed as prizes for the top finishers in each flight.

Please register with three of your friends to enjoy the greatest event of the year at WLGC.

Junior Golf Starts June 14

Registration for junior golf is being offered in the Golf Shop for all age groups with the first session beginning next week. Remember it is totally fee and participants need not be a member of WLGA to enjoy the benefits of the Junior Program.

Junior Qualifier

Whitefish will once again host the Montana State Junior Qualifier on Monday, June 13. Registration is available in the Golf Shop or call 862-5960.

New Greens

The three new greens on the North Course are now being mowed at the same height as the other greens and will roll at roughly the same rate as the other greens. All of us are reminded to fix our ball marks and fill divots or replace them. A repaired ball marks on the greens will heal in less than a week while a non-repaired mark may take up to three weeks to recover.
