Whitefish Police calls from July 4 to 9:

Monday, July 4

9:26 a.m. A man denied allegations that he made comments about blowing up a school.

9:28 a.m. A terrier was reported stolen from a yard on Columbia Avenue.

3:22 p.m. Transients with dogs were removed from City Beach.

10:28 p.m. People on Crestwood refused to stop lighting fireworks.

11:56 p.m. Report of a man rapping, swearing and picking fights behind a concession stand.

Tuesday, July 5

12:35 a.m. A broken motorboat with two people and one oar was towed to shore.

6:19 p.m. Report of a hit-and-run on Dakota Avenue. The owner found a note on the vehicle saying she shouldn’t have parked there.

9:01 p.m. Report of a man throwing firecrackers at vehicles on Wisconsin Avenue. He may have also threatened another person with a weapon.

9:21 p.m. A bunch of people were lighting fireworks at the ice rink parking lot. A resident attempted to talk to them, but they laughed at her.

Wednesday, July 6

11:12 a.m. A Baker Avenue store reported a suspect who steals items the tries to return them for cash.

11:41 p.m. People playing music for money on Central Avenue were moved down the street.

Thursday, July 7

11:04 a.m. Report of an unattended vehicle downtown with all the doors left open and a wallet on the seat.

1:25 p.m. A construction trailer had been parked on East 3rd Street for weeks. Police warned the owner to move it or else it would be towed.

Friday, July 8

12:44 a.m. Report of a woman cussing and threatening staff at the hospital. She reportedly had a weapon in a holster on her hip that she later put inside her vehicle. Staff was uncomfortable having the woman at the hospital while she was angry with access to a weapon.

7:38 a.m. A man from Iowa visiting Whitefish asked police if they would hold his firearm while he traveled to Canada.

7:02 p.m. A purse was stolen from a construction site downtown.

9:08 p.m. Police told a man to unchain his bicycle from a hot dog cart downtown.

10:34 p.m. Report of teens shooting fireworks at City Beach.

Saturday, July 9

2:58 a.m. A caller reported that her husband threatened to kill her and take her daughter. She alleged the man beat her with a stick.

4:39 p.m. Report of a man totally nude at City Beach. He was exposing himself and laughing at everyone. Police arrested the man.

9:30 p.m. A caller told police a man at a Baker Avenue business was yelling at him because he’s from Florida and “doesn’t belong here.” The men were told to stay away from each other.

9:33 p.m. An intoxicated man who had fallen through a window and suffered some lacerations was at the hospital causing trouble.

9:38 p.m. Report of transients offering people crack pellets in an alley behind a downtown bar.

11:01 p.m. An employee downtown told police that someone locked their bike to his bike. He needed to get home and wasn’t sure how to get his bike free. Police cut the lock.

11:05 p.m. A driver was burning rubber on Colorado Avenue.

Sunday, July 10

11:09 a.m. Report of a baby left inside a vehicle while the parents were in a casino. Police counseled the father to not leave the child unattended in a vehicle for even two minutes.

5:47 p.m. A caller working on a bird project along the river reported a boy tearing down a city fence.
