Police calls: Transient troubles

Monday, June 27
9:55 a.m. Dust and debris was flying into the air as workers on West 2nd Street removed insulation from a home.
10:21 a.m. A baggy filled with a suspicious white powder was found on Somers Avenue.
11:05 a.m. A motor-home was stuck on a rock on Highway 93 South.
11:53 a.m. Report of a small buck with a broken back leg on West 4th Street.
3:30 p.m. The keys were left in the door of a downtown barber shop. Police secured the building and returned the keys to the owner.
7:49 p.m. Tires were slashed on a vehicle parked at Riverside Park.
9:28 p.m. Someone in a black pickup tossed firecrackers out the window while on Columbia Avenue.
Tuesday, June 28
6:58 a.m. A security guard was dealing with two people picking huckleberries off Lookout Lane. The pickers said the security person was being rude. Both parties were counseled.
9:50 a.m. Someone threw cement at a window on Spokane Avenue. The window didn’t break because it’s bulletproof.
9:59 p.m. A storage unit was broken into on East 7th Street.
Wednesday, June 29
7:34 p.m. Two “knuckleheads” attempted to hot wire a car on Baker Avenue.
7:44 p.m. Report of five kids jumping off the bridge and throwing trash into the river. The kids were sent home after picking up their litter.
Thursday, June 30
8:18 a.m. A Denver Street resident reported a road rage incident. A driver in a Toyota pickup reportedly tried to pass a truck delivering a porta potty. The driver then confronted the resident on his property before taking off.
12:16 p.m. Report of a suspicious man wearing high heels and a short bathrobe walking on the pedestrian path near JP Road. Police advised the man on an appropriate place to change.
6:22 p.m. Report of 10 teenagers jumping from the footbridge and lighting off firecrackers.
9:34 p.m. A man was found passed out in the bushes behind the middle school.
Friday, July 1
2:18 p.m. A vehicle was vandalized on Highway 93 South.
2:33 p.m. Six transients were drinking, screaming and bothering people downtown.
Saturday, July 2
2:07 a.m. Report of three fights happening downtown.
11:58 p.m. Report of dirty and smelly transients drinking tall cans of beer downtown.
3:40 p.m. Skateboarders downtown were advised of the city ordinance.
5:49 p.m. Ten transients with dogs were fist fighting downtown.
8:40 p.m. Report of two men allegedly beating a man on the side of Highway 93.
Sunday, July 3
2:23 a.m. People downtown were seen standing around what appeared to be a dead body. Police found Canadians taking photos of their passed out friends.
8:12 a.m. A caller advised that all the trash cans downtown were overflowing.
