Offense shines for Lady Dogs in win

Whitefish quickly returned to the win column Saturday with a high-scoring performance against Class B Thompson Falls.

The Lady Dogs dropped 23 points in the second quarter to erase an early deficit and take the 63-48 nonconference victory.

Sophomore Dani Douglas led Whitefish with 23 points, including 11 in the second quarter. She also dished out a pair of assists and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.

Coral Schulz added 14 points. Makenna Benbrook had a nice night with eight points and three steals.

The win came just just two days after the Lady Dogs took a tough 39 point loss on the road at Columbia Falls.

The top-rated Wildkats (10-1 overall) flexed their strength as the team to beat in Class A, finishing off Whitefish 72-33 in the conference meeting.

Schulz scored 12 points for Whitefish in the effort.

Whitefish is now 4-6 overall and 0-2 in the league. The Dogs host Polson (2-6, 0-2) on Saturday.
