Slopestyle star Maggie Voisin appears to be very comfortable with the site of the next Olympics.

Voisin placed second Feb. 20 at a slopestyle test event for the 2018 Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea. The podium finish marked a career-best World Cup result for the Whitefish freeskier. Voisin’s high score came on her first run — an 84.60.

The result in South Korea is another signal that the 17-year-old has returned to her top form after being sidelined for two seasons.

“I haven’t been on a podium due to injuries for two years now,” Voisin told U.S. Freeskiing. “Adding on that it’s the Olympic test event, it’s huge. I’m super excited. I went in with confidence and hoped for the best so I’m super happy.”

Before her trip to South Korea, Voisin competed under bright lights at the Polartec Big Air at Fenway Park in Boston. Competitors threw their best tricks off a massive 140-foot-tall scaffolding jump built inside the iconic baseball stadium. Voisin placed fifth in that event with a cumulative score of 118.

“Not many people can say they’ve skied in Fenway Park,” Voisin said. “This is unreal. I can’t say that close to this many people have come to a slopestyle event so that’s just awesome. And they get so excited so it’s such a blast—I’m so grateful for this.”

In January, Voisin landed in fourth at the Winter X Games in Aspen, Colo.

Voisin was a member of the 2014 U.S. Olympic slopestyle team at just 15 years old.

The U.S. Freeskiing team next competes at the X Games in Oslo, Norway.
