Several downtown buildings tagged with graffiti
Whitefish police calls from Feb. 1-7:
Monday, Feb. 1
7:57 a.m. Report of vandalism at a home under construction on Huckleberry Lane. Someone broke into the home and poured gas over everything. It appeared someone intended to burn the place down.
3:40 p.m. Report of kids selling drugs in the bathroom of an East 1st Street business. An employee reported the activity after seeing money exchanged. Police investigated and took one boy back to his home.
Tuesday, Feb. 2
8:29 a.m. Report of a boy who took his mom’s vehicle and refused to return it.
Wednesday, Feb. 3
8:17 a.m. A man told police his ex-wife hit him with the side mirror of her vehicle.
2:40 p.m. Report of kids without a driver’s license driving around East 2nd Street.
Thursday, Feb. 4
12:37 p.m. Report of a woman causing a disturbance at a bar downtown.
4:53 p.m. Two men in ski clothes were caught urinating in the parking lot of a Wisconsin Avenue restaurant.
9:02 p.m. A boy was seen smoking marijuana inside a restaurant downtown.
10:02 p.m. A man reportedly walked out of a store at the mall with two TVs. He was driving a gray van.
11:50 p.m. The crosswalk post was knocked over on Wisconsin Avenue.
Friday, Feb. 5
7:26 p.m. A vehicle slid down an icy hill on East 2nd Street and hit an electrical power box.
Saturday, Feb. 6
10:08 a.m. Several buildings downtown were tagged with graffiti.
11:09 a.m. Report of a couple yelling at each other at an Iowa Avenue apartment.
1:19 p.m. Two men in a van told a Denver Street resident they were cleaning carpets to pay for college. The resident didn’t believe them and thought it was suspicious.
5:28 p.m. An unruly man downtown was trying to start fights. He was arrested and spent the night in jail.
Sunday, Feb. 7
12:53 a.m. An intoxicated man on East 1st Street threw milk on his girlfriend and the TV. The man was taken to a motel for the night.
9:20 a.m. A vending machine was vandalized at a laundromat on Wisconsin Avenue.
8:57 p.m. Report of a man leaving a Super Bowl party who was upset about the music playing in the car.
