Praise for Veteran's Support Team

I just completed my fifth winter of volunteering with the Whitefish Veterans Support Team and continue to marvel at the warmth, “joie de vivre”, and professionalism of the team.

From the moment they arrived to the farewell hugs, the military couples were embraced and supported by caring volunteers committed to providing more than just the sport we all love. They provided an atmosphere where couples could work on developing transition from the military plans while sharing common goals and issues. All of this was done with great humor, solidarity and the nurturing of the mountain environment itself.

My hat is off to this wonderful team of volunteers. To Steve and Christine Shea for getting this effort off the ground and to Dave and Judy Williams and all of the volunteers who have continued to develop this phenomenal effort.

I have been around many of these efforts and events over the last 12 years and I can say that I have seen nothing finer anywhere. It is an honor to be associated with such a fine group of individuals.

Thank you for your service to all of the military families who participated this year and thank you to the Whitefish Veterans Support Team for allowing me to be a part of such a wonderful venture.
