Junior ski team wins Northern Division trophy

For the first time ever, the Flathead Valley Ski Education Foundation junior ski team has won the Northern Division team trophy.

Racing slalom at Whitefish Mountain Resort Jan. 23-24, U14 girls Annika Severn-Eriksson, Mikaela Daniels and Stella Eddy all earned a spot a on the podium. U14 boys earning podium were Colter Upton, Ian Calaway and Rayce Niell. U16 Camas Rinehart and U19 Dawson Rinehart also earned podium status.

Racers transitioned to a giant slalom course for Jan. 25-26. The U14 girls earning podium spots were Severn-Eriksson and Eddy. For the U14 boys, Tyler Anderson, Upton, Gardner Dominick and Colin Haper all placed. U16 Payton Charest took third on Jan. 26. Rinehart placed second both days.

The team next competes in Bozeman at Bridger Bowl.
