Support the practical candidate

I went to school with Chet Billi, and he was always outspoken. If something was being taught in the class that Chet believed was false or misrepresented, he spoke up. He’s not afraid to stand on principle, and the people of Whitefish need someone who won’t be afraid to fight for them.

Chet Billi is also the practical choice. The Republicans are anticipated to maintain the majority in the legislature, which means they will control the committees. This year, we learned in our American Government class that the majority party takes the bills of the minority party and sticks them on the bottom of the stack. This is the reason our legislator for the last two sessions, a Democrat, did not have any significant bills make it to the floor for a vote even though several had Republican cosponsors.

There are bipartisan issues facing Whitefish, property tax relief being the most significant. As a Republican, Chet will actually be able to get things through because he will caucus with the majority.

Whitefish has no voice when we’re in the minority. Let’s put ourselves in the majority and support the practical candidate, Chet Billi.
