Sunday, Aug. 21

4:02 a.m. An outside party with people talking and laughing on Mountain Park Dr. had been going on all night long.

4:34 a.m. A man appeared to be tampering with mailboxes on Wisconsin Ave.

4:43 a.m. A man wanting to retrieve items from a house after getting into an argument with his roommate was advised to wait for a better hour.

10:01 a.m. A puppy was found on Highway 93 S.

6:37 p.m. A dog on Edgewood Place had been nonstop barking for days. The owner said they would try to keep it quiet.

10:36 p.m. A vehicle driving on W 10th St. had no rear lights. The driver said the lights weren’t working and was advised to use flashers to get home.

Monday, Aug.22

6:21 a.m. A dog barking on Waverly was an ongoing problem.

11:36 a.m. A mountain bike fell of the back of a vehicle somewhere between Eureka and Whitefish.

4:06 p.m. A woman reported $300 cash stolen from her purse while she was at work at a hotel on Wisconsin Avenue.

Tuesday, Aug. 23

1:40 a.m. Kids playing on a roof were advised to go home.

7:33 a.m. Unruly guests refused to leave an Inn on Columbia Avenue.

11:16 a.m. Transients camping on Lupfer Avenue are an ongoing issue.

3:05 p.m. A man was advised that he can’t sleep under the bushes along Highway 93 South.

8:16 p.m. Report of a dirty looking man on Central Avenue who allegedly punched a dog.

8:49 p.m. Eight panhandlers were hanging out on Central Avenue.

Wednesday, Aug. 24

10:46 a.m. Ten transients with dogs were spotted walking toward the rail yard.

8:34 p.m. A resident on Highway 93 South complained about a loud jackhammer being used at a construction site.

8:47 p.m. Teens were seen throwing rocks at a vehicle near the library.

9:07 p.m. Transients with dogs were panhandling on Central Avenue.

9:43 p.m. An intoxicated woman did a face plant while leaving a bar downtown. An intoxicated man was yelling at her to wake up, then was seen shaking her and grabbing her hair. They both attempted to leave in a vehicle. One person was arrested.

Thursday, Aug. 25

3:14 a.m. An intoxicated person was passed out and sleeping on the sidewalk downtown.

8:55 a.m. Garbage, an old backpack and guitar case were found on a bench downtown.

10:42 a.m. One man jumped out of a vehicle and threatened another driver on Highway 93 South.

11:18 a.m. Report of transients attempting to break into a building on East 4th Street. One man was seen urinating inside the building.

1:09 p.m. Report of businesses downtown blocking the sidewalk with tables and a sign.

2:14 p.m. Transients with dogs were fighting downtown. They were asked to move along.

3:42 p.m. A transient was found lying on the sidewalk on Baker Avenue. He said he was just taking a nap.

4:49 p.m. Three transients were asking for money and yelling at people downtown. Police advised the caller there is no panhandling ordinance in Whitefish.

6:19 p.m. Report of transients using profanity and reaching toward people downtown.

7:07 p.m. Report of a suspicious man wearing a mask near the train trestle.

8:07 p.m. Report of transients hanging out at a storage shed on Lupfer Avenue.

9:52 p.m. Report of two transients yelling at each other on Baker Avenue. One woman was crying.

Friday, Aug. 26

4:34 a.m. A black bear was spotted getting into garbage on West Seventh Street.

9:54 a.m. A business owner suspected an employee of stealing $6,000.

9:09 p.m. A caller was upset about noise from the Hootenanny.

11:50 p.m. The front door to a store at the mall was smashed in.

Saturday, Aug. 27

9:20 a.m. A woman tracked her stolen iPhone and purse to home on Highway 93 South. The phone and purse were inside an unlocked vehicle, so she took her items and left the scene.

1:30 p.m. A reckless driver was honking at pedestrians and throwing beer cans out the window.

4:41 p.m. A raft was found in the middle of Highway 93 West.

8:57 p.m. A black BMW was keyed at a hotel on Highway 93 West.

Sunday, Aug. 28

1:27 a.m. Report of people playing basketball at a park near East Second Street. They allegedly had rock music playing and were doing drugs.

3:26 a.m. Police found a bicycle and half-eaten banana on the bike path.

8:56 p.m. A man on Lupfer Avenue was arrested and charged with assault.

10:29 p.m. Police shot and killed a mountain lion on West 6th Street.
